REDARC Dual Sensing Smart Start Battery Isolator 12V 200A - SBI212D. A microprocessor controlled dual battery isolator used in a dual battery system. It is designed to be used as a solenoid priority system to protect the start battery from excessive discharge while allowing the auxiliary battery to supply non-essential loads. Provides 12 volt DC incorporating 200A of continuous ratings and is designed for extremely heavy-duty operations. A Dual sensing model has the added feature of allowing charge both ways where the auxiliary battery may also be charged by an external source such as Solar panels or an external AC battery charger. The SBI212D will also allow the start battery to be charged by the external source once the auxiliary battery reaches 13.2 volts to help top up the start battery. Incorporates electronic components that will prevent the solenoid from generating high voltage transients. It is better than a diode battery isolator due to the voltage drop associated with diode type isolation. It features sophisticated fault detection and LED indication of operation to warn the user of faults including over-voltage, voltage drop and excessive current draw conditions. Used primarily in 4WD and commercial vehicles. For installation, its recommended to use a quality fuse kit.
